What haircolor bases should I use (beige, ash, etc.) to keep my blonde hair from turning blue?

I colored my hair years ago with store bought products. That is until I died my light blonde hair and it turned blue. Since then I go professional only. I just moved two years ago and used a cosmotologist that was recommend by family. For the past two years she raised her price every time that I went for the same processes. Highlights, lowlights, and a trim. Then the last couple of times, she booked people at the same times. She had a wreck and I think ran into some financial problems, she has overbooked trying to bring in money. I sat longer than I should with color, or a wet head for 20 min. while I waited for her to cut/ style someone else. Until I find someone else, I got brave and put a color on my hair myself. I used a champagne blonde. Didn't care for it, so I used a Dark Blonde. I am wanting to eliminate red tones, so I wanted to go over it with a Dark Beige blonde. Can I do this safely without turning my hair blue? What bases make hair turn blue when used on top of each other?

What haircolor bases should I use (beige, ash, etc.) to keep my blonde hair from turning blue?

Well I woudlnt worry about blue I'd worry about a grassy green. If you dont want that you'll need to do a auburn under tone. The beige looks good but unfortunately it gets grassy over time, and you have to color your hair more often.

my only advise is stay away from ash colours, its the base in ash that turns blue/green

Is there a product for my hair to stay straight longer when i straighten it?

my hair is medium length, kinda wavy, and it's got volume. i straighten it in the morning and it's out of shape, all wavy in a few hours. i know there's ways to make it stay. but i really don't know what or how. i'm hoping some of you will recomments something that will work. (does anyone else have this problem, anyways?) preferrably something that won't damage my hair so much. althought at this point i don't care as long as it doesn't make my hair fall out and it's able to maintain it straight for a longer period of time.

please, i'll appreciate it =]

Is there a product for my hair to stay straight longer when i straighten it?

I have the same kind of hair and I recently discovered that spraying on some anti-static spray (the kind they sell for laundry) helps a lot. Use it in addition to whatever straightening product you usually use.

Is there a product for my hair to stay straight longer when i straighten it?

Try using a Frizz/straigtening serum. They work great, especialy with a flat iron! BTW, they are clear, and Sally's carries tons of them. Good Luck!

Is there a product for my hair to stay straight longer when i straighten it?

There are products called anti-humectants that work for some wavy haired people. I have tried everything, and nothing will work if it is wet out, but there are many that work in dry weather.

If anti-humectants don't work, you could try a mud, but it leaves your heir feeling sticky.

The best products that I have used are the ones by Aveda.

Is there a product for my hair to stay straight longer when i straighten it?

So far all the above %26amp; the lady below me are only temporary fixes. The following is permanent; Some use a perm to straighten it, but the "white folks" (I'm white) perm does nothing for me so I use a "black folks" relaxer (that's what it's called-A Relaxer) with lye in it. Be careful though, but it will KEEP it straight. let some one else do it for u. You/them will b able to tell when it is straight. If u want to do this as I suggested, ask a few of your black friends. Ask them what brand they like %26amp; where they bought it, what worked %26amp; what didn't, Etc.

PS Keep in mind that if you keep it in long enough this will make your hair stringy straight %26amp; the volume won't be there either.

Hope this helps

Is there a product for my hair to stay straight longer when i straighten it?

Well, it depends really, hun. It could be one of two things that you need to change. 1) It could be that your hair straightener's plates are burning out, or they are not heating correctly or 2) It could be the lack of the right kind of hair product or the lack of hair product at all. I have medium length hair myself and it is also wavy. I usually use Aussie volumizing mousse while it's still wet. I let my hair air-dry on it's own and slick it back. This way when it dries it will dry relatively straight on it's own. Then I use Treseme Heat Styling Spray and run a towel over my hair to soak up the excess spray. Then I use a Revlon Solid Ceramic hair straightener, separating my hair in layers and go in 2 inch intervals through my hair until it is straight. When I am done, I use Treseme's Anti-Frizz Treatment and a light spritz of extra hold hairspray, brushing my fingers through it at the end. Hope some of that was helpful!

My short relaxed hair?

thank you i really apprecate

My short relaxed hair?

I had my hair relaxed when I was about 10, it fell out, and never grew back. I am now 50 with long beautiful soft hair. I went for 40 years with messed up hairstyles.

I have the answer for you that I wish I had known when I was a young girl. Take 2 tbls. apple cider vinegar in a glass of water 2-3 x day. ACV has 93 vitamins and minerals so hair will come back. Not overnight of course, but it will become stronger and longer. Trust me. Take it everyday though, but you can skip a day or two if you want. Happy hair growing!

My short relaxed hair?

You could just be going to a slower hair growth period right now. Keep in mind, when you had your hair relaxed you really knocked the wind right out of it. So all you can do now is try not to overly dry it or over process it in any way. Ensure you're conditioning and just try to be patient. I know hard.

My short relaxed hair?

I know how stressful this can be when you're worried about your hair.

The fact is that chemical relaxers are harsh. It sounds like you're doing everything you should to take care of your hair, but I have a couple of suggestions. Makr sure that your stylists is only applying the relaxers to the new growth when you get a touch-up. Also, ask her/him if they could use a more gentle relaxer the next time you get a touch-up.

I hope that is helpful.

My short relaxed hair?

watch your diet, your hair really does grow from the inside out. Keep it well conditioned and try not to use heat excessively. Ask your mom to take you to the doctor and get a good vitamin and mineral combination, or just eat lots of fruits and veggies. Do not forget the water.

My short relaxed hair?

maybe you are doing too much to your hair.what kind of cream are you using ? did they test your hair with the produce ? the cream can be too strong for your hair, try steaming your hair with some stale beer and egg white, wash it , then plat in some braid and let it grow .the bad end will fall off but you hair will grow beauifull again ok

My short relaxed hair?

Sounds to me like you might have some damage that is making your hair break off faster than it is growing.( I say this because you said your hair used to be long... now it's shorter) Relaxed hair is much more fragile than natural hair because it has a couple of layers stripped off of each strand in order to make it straight. Because of this, relaxed hair is much less resistant to anything that you could have done before the relaxer such as ponytails, updo's that are too tight, a lot of gel, a lot of heat (curlers and flat irons). I would suggest to definently take it easy on all of the above and keep doing what you are doing... taking care of your hair.

~*~*~*~Ugh...oily hair and scalp...please help!~*~*~*~?

My hair gets really oily, even with just one day of not washing...I also have nasty dandruff and sometimes my scalp feels so itchy! I have used Head and Shoulders 2 in 1 sensitive care and it makes my hair so dull and lifeless with no body!!! Am I using the wrong product or what?! I want healthy hair and a healthy scalp and this is getting on my nerves.

When not using dandruff shampoo, I use VO5 Extra Body Shampoo %26amp; Conditioner...it makes my hair smooth, shiny, pretty, and full of body!

I would especially appreciate advice from someone who also suffers this and has a great SPECIFIC product or solution!

~*~*~*~Ugh...oily hair and scalp...please help!~*~*~*~?

you need to let go of head and shoulders cause head and shoulders is all CHEMICALS. it damages your hair, and for some people, it creates more dandruff.

if youre looking for another product, i use aveda scalp control and it works great.

go for something from a salon. Products you can pick up at walmart arent very effective.

~*~*~*~Ugh...oily hair and scalp...please help!~*~*~*~?

I have very oily hair and HAVE to wash it every day. I color it now and that seems to have helped with the amount of oiliness but I still need to wash it daily. I usually change shampoos daily since that seems to be what works best for me. I use Pantene, Herbal Essences, Neturogena, Sunsilk and the very best one for removing oil is Prell. Prell is a high detergent shampoo and really removes the oil. For that reason I don't recommend using it more than once a week. It's a pain but I can't stand for my hair to be oily so I wash, wash, wash.

~*~*~*~Ugh...oily hair and scalp...please help!~*~*~*~?

Head and shoulders is the reason your hair is oily. Stop using it and you will solve that problem.

~*~*~*~Ugh...oily hair and scalp...please help!~*~*~*~?

I also have oily hair and scalp. If you don't want to wash your hair every day you can use a cornstarch based baby powder so it doesn't look greasy. Just sprinkle it in your hands and rub it all over your scalp. You can also use tea tree shampoo or pine tar shampoo. Also if you are of age and can take birth control your hair will not be oily anymore. Whith me it is hormonal. If I take the pill or am pregnant I can go a couple of days without washing my hair and my skin clears up to

Do YOU have any beauty secrets, tips, tricks, or wonder products??

i need general beauty advice!im looking for any beauty advice! on hair, makeup, nails, skin care, odour, chapped lips ect.....ANYTHING!! a few of my beauty tips are: for beautiful, fresh feeling, glowing skin: wash your face with warm water and then rub an exfoliating/regular face wash, rinse off in FREEZING cold water, and apply moisturizer! it really works!! try it for a few days to c the difference

for long, chip free gorous nails: put 2 coats of strengthing nail polish, 2 coats of colour nail polish, and then finsih with a top 1 coat!( get a 2 in 1 strengthening/top coat) for long, fluttery lashes use eyelash curler, and coat eyelashes with a bit of vaseline followed by mascara.! so wat r YOUR beauty secrets, tips, tricks, and beauty products??????

Do YOU have any beauty secrets, tips, tricks, or wonder products??

1. Use your mascara and apply with an eyeliner brush, looks just like liquid eyeliner it will last all day!

2. Eyeliner should be applied close to base of eyelashes to make them look thicker. Start with a thicker line on the outer edge of your lid with elbow on table for stability, draw the line towards inner corner of your eye, thinning the line as you go.

3. For natural Smokey looking eyes, smudge in your eyeliner by creating tiny circular motions near the lashes to blend in the color!

4.Dont forget to take your makeup off before jumping into bed! If you dont you can wake up breaking out!!

5. Every morning, when you get ready to apply makeup, rub a ice cube all over your face. Then clean and dry your face. Your face should now look and feel tighter, then when you apply your powder or foundation, it will look smoother.

6. To stop your lip gloss from slipping, rub an ice cube over your lips after applying.

Do YOU have any beauty secrets, tips, tricks, or wonder products??

always wash your face before bed and always change your pillow case every night. Most people druell at night..do you really want your pores smooched into that every night... Clean pillow case, clean pore

Do YOU have any beauty secrets, tips, tricks, or wonder products??

the basic foundation in everyone's med cabinet:

hydrogen peroxide - to cleanse germs and lighten skin

witch hazel - to tone skin

Vegetable glycerin - to soften skin

aloe vera - to soften skin and all skin problems.

Do YOU have any beauty secrets, tips, tricks, or wonder products??

Drink plenty of water

Keep your hands off of your face as much as possible. Our hands are really nasty.Just think of all the things you touch.

Do YOU have any beauty secrets, tips, tricks, or wonder products??

all you need is lip balm!

works to keep lips soft and shiny but not too shiny like lipgloss which can be sticky and greasy looking.

dab a little lib balm on your cheekbones when you're going on a night out. It looks amazing and gives you a dewy look.

to keep loose glitter eyeshadow on my lids, i dap a tiny bit of lip balm on them first then dab the eyeshadow on...flawless!!!

Have dry skin in the winter? If you get dry spots anywhere on your face, dab a bit of lip balm as a quick on the go remedy.

lip balm even works on dry hands if you forget your lotion!

Do YOU have any beauty secrets, tips, tricks, or wonder products??

Drink LOTS of water, all the time. Soda is soooo bad for your skin, even if it's diet.

DO NOT touch your face! Wash your hands after and before every meal, everytime you've been out somewhere, first things, wash your hands. Whenever you're near a sink, wash your hands!

Oh, and a secret, to make your make-up look flawless, always start with a cleanly washed face, pat dry, put a tiny drop of "Olay provital protective moisture lotion" in your hands, rub hands together and pat onto face. Makes your skin soft, it's the ONLY facial lotion so far that I've found doesn't clog your pores. AND it makes it easier to put on your foundation! Vouila!

Do YOU have any beauty secrets, tips, tricks, or wonder products??

for really soft glowy skin i mix 2 parts of the clean and clear morning glow moisutizer with 1 part of liquid foundation....i mix it with a q-tip and i get sheer coverage and glowing skin. to reduce frizz in my hair i dont scrub my hair with shampoo, i comb my hair straight while in the shower and put a squirt of shampoo on my hands, rub my hands together and run my hands down the length of my hair. it cleans my hair and i dont cause breakage by scrubbing. i mix a drop of visine with powder eyeshado and apply with an angled brush to get the illusion of liquid eyeliner but it doesnt irritate my eyes (i wear contacts) like most liquid eyeliner does. i apply baby oil gel to my face after i wash it at night. it softens my skin and it doesnt clog pores even tho its oil based gel..i love it!! i also slather my feet with baby oil gel every night and wear thick socks to bed. i wake up to smooth, callus free feet!!

Do YOU have any beauty secrets, tips, tricks, or wonder products??

Don't use foundation-use a tinted moisturizer. It will help even things out a little but it will still look natural.

CO Bigelow Mentha lip shines and Urban Decay 24/7 eyeliners are my two biggest Holy Grail products-the former because it moisturizes like a balm, shines like a gloss, and freshens my breath; and the latter because it's the best eyeliner I have ever used and it's animal-friendly.

ALWAYS carry hand sanitizer around because in this day and age, you want to stay safe.

At most, wash your hair every other day. It will let the natural oils in your hair replenish (washing daily will strip your hair). Also if you have any signs of breakage, use a protein mask once a week in your hair to help strengthen it.

Some things should be left to professionals-namely your hair and brows.

Vitamin C serum worked wonders for my skin-it is worth the money that you would spend on it.

Finally, spend money on a good facecare regimen that is made for your skin type. At (hopefully all) stores that sell facecare, they will work with you to find out what you will need based on your skincare concerns. I find that toner is a waste of money, money that could be spent on a scrub which will do a lot more and make your skin glow.

Do YOU have any beauty secrets, tips, tricks, or wonder products??

Add granulated sugar to your favorite moisturizer to exfoliate your skin. Much cheaper and still effective.

Blue mascara brightens eyes.

Unsure of new makeup? Apply before you take a shower just to see if you like it.

Athena 7 minute lift cream is all natural and is amazing. Expensive though.

Concealer three shades darker than skin tone can double as eyeshadow and looks great.

DRY HAIR!! Ahh?

i used to have awsome hair. shiny and all. but the i got it permed and it got dry and i started to get dandruff. iwant healthy hair again and i dont care if it takes the body wave out. i tried mayo ad olie oil and it didn't work. plese tell me specific products, how often and how long i should use it. i'm sick of the perm. also tell me ways to get mt hair straight again. THANKS SOOO MUCH GUYS!

DRY HAIR!! Ahh?

OK first of all it's probably to perm solution. If it's to strong it can do that. Well first let's address you getting your hair straight. What I would recommend using a milder perm solution and instead of or rolling it up comb it out straight and let it finish processing. Then after that I would start using a product called citre shine. You can get it at Wal-Mart. This will help bring back the softness and shine and repair all the damage caused by the perming. It might take about a month or two to see the results but it's worth it. I use it myself and it's done wonders one my hair.

DRY HAIR!! Ahh?

Let them grow out. No other way, sorry :(

No products I guess.. try following the same routine you did when you had healthier hair. Try to think of a style that'll not look so bad on you with the permed hair. Hope this helps! :)

DRY HAIR!! Ahh?

Get a moisturizing shampoo and conditioner. Treat your scalp to an oil treatment for dry scalp. if you don't want the perm it is reversible. If you want step by step directions let me know.

DRY HAIR!! Ahh?

http://www.herbalessences.com/us/collect...

This shampoo and conditioner is really good for dry or damaged hair. Try it!

DRY HAIR!! Ahh?

i love bio silk. ITs just how it sound it leaves ur hair feeling silky. The perm needs to grow out in order for u to have straigh hair. wen it does get a chi. Biosilk and the chi work hand in hand to create straight and silky hair. I love it

DRY HAIR!! Ahh?

.Just so you know mayo NEVER works it just makes you hair greasy. and to make your hair soft i say try dove products. they worked wonders for me. put a lot of dove conditioner in you hair and put it in a bun. leave it in for and hour or so then rinse it out. it work well for me.

and to get you hair straight you can get it chemically straitened but that will fry your hair event more so i would let the perm grow out.

good luck (=

DRY HAIR!! Ahh?

well, to get rid of the perm, you have two options. Let it grow out, which will take a while, or use a perm solution to straighten it. (do it with out the curlers). But this will again fry it.

When styling your hair, never put an iron to it when it is wet. This makes your hair dry and brittle. For the dry hair, I would do hot oil treatments. this happened to me too when I was around 13 -17. I did about 1 hot oil treatment a week - VO5 hot oil treatments are about a buck. Also the advice was good who said: put conditioner in your wet hair (not scalp) and let it sit. (put a quarter size conditioner in your hand, rub it around, flip your head upside down and put alot on your ends and then up into the hair) But I would put some kind of bag over your head to keep the heat and moisture in. I wouldnt wrap it in a tight bun though, as the tight pull of the hair breaks the hairs.

DO NOT use anything with acid or alcohol in it that you are going to let sit in your hair. If you are using such things put them in and rinse them out. these are drying.

Try to avoid putting your hair in pony tails as that breaks the hair as well.

So: hot oil treatments, moisturizing conditioner to set in hair.

DRY HAIR!! Ahh?

try over conditioning it a few days or every other day. and you might want to try a different shampoo. i use TRESemme (it's like french or something but i think you can still get it at king supers or target) it's in a black bottle.

but it works really well, like today i didn't even use conditioner cause my hair was ssoo soft from using it for only a week.

hope this helps!
