What is the best way to repair (damaged) hair??

I have curly, kinky hair that i have damaged from getting highlights, Straightening my hair with 1 relaxer (that didn't straighten my hair at all), flat irons, and i also got a permanant straightener (that didn't work ethier) on my hair as well. This was 6 months ago and ever since i did all that damage to my hair i have deep conditioned it and taken really good care of it and i need some advice on things to do for my hair to help it even more.(any good products/advice)

One way woud be is to go to a hair salon that specializes in damaged and unhealthy hair. My hair was also very damaged, from relaxers, coloring and heat devices. I alloed my relaxer to grow out by getting my hair braided every 4-6 weeks. Between braidings I would get my split ends clipped and my hair deep conditioned. Within a year my hair had grown an additional 5 inches and was really healthy. I no longer chemically treat my hair, I now have my hair pressed every 3 weeks.

Try a mix of equal quantities of olive, castor and almond oil. Its very nutritious to your hair. just apply it to your hair and leave it in for 1 hour (better if you wrap your hair in a hot towel). Then wash your hair thoroughly.

I guess theres really nothing you can do now but be very gentle with it, and don`t use anything that sucks moisture out of it. Keep deep conditioning it. And wash hair every other day= this is very important.

You should get a shampoo and conditioner that works for you hair and will reclense it and give it somemore vibe. Maybe like panteen or something.

If it were me I would definitely consult a professional. I did after I went bleach blonde (i have natural dark brown curly hair) but exactly 2 minutes before I bought a straightener. If I hadn't I wouldn't have any hair. Thank goodness for hairstylist who in some cases know what they are talking about. God Bless.

Go to a salon and get re constructor treatments,it's made up of protein and moisture. You will also need to at least start trimming the damage off or get a shorter hair cut. Nothing will repair damaged hair. Depending on how bad it is you can only camoflauge it. Don't put anymore chemicals on it either.

Well, i relax my hair, and in between relaxers i use this product called Nioxin...kinda expensive but if you do your research you will see why, always remember to deep condition that hair once a week, use a conditioner that keeps the ph level and porosity in you hair stable, repairs it, and prevents damage, also i suggest using John Freida style products...i use the hair serum and the blow dry hair spray and afterwards i use a blow dry with a comb attachment once a week ALSO, MAKE SURE TO TRIM THOSE SPLIT ENDS, about once every two months or every time you look in the mirror and notice the frizzyness in the hair shafts and that the ends are not uniformly straight, take a pair of scissors especially made to trim hair, and cut about a half an in off of your ends....its all about weekly maintenance.

Just putting conditioner on it does not really help repair it. It needs deep conditioning and that will have to be done once a week and also trimming some of the damaged hair off as it grows out until you get to hair that has not been damaged. How to deep condition: Purchase good quality conditioner (Nexus has one called Keraphyx) from a beauty shop. Wash hair, rinse shampoo out. Towel hair, but leave damp. Put on recommended amount of conditioner. Do not rinse out yet. Cover head with plastic shower cap or plastic bag (not whole head, but hair area). Wrap a large towel around that. Leave on for 20 minutes (so your body's heat can warm up everything under the cap and towel, opening up the shaft of the hair and allowing the conditioner to soak into the hair). After 20 minutes, remove towel and cap/bag. Wait another 5-10 minutes for hair to cool down and let shafts close and retain the conditioner and moisture from it. Now rinse hair, but with luke warm water or as cool as you can stand it. For an even deeper heat treatment; leave off towel and set under dryer for the 20 minutes. Remember to still allow it 5-10 minutes to cool down. And also use the cap or bag when using the hair dryer treatment. I have had many bad experiences with my hair over the years, and learned this one some years ago. Literally has saved my hair after some major damage.

Hi! I had some of those similar problems and I found what work for me is to only wash it 3 times a week(if you can get away with it) and the rest of the week put a leave in conditioner or Frizz Ease and John Freida satin shine in my hair before I put it up in a pony or a loose bun or even lightly flat iron it. Washing it only 3 times a week got some getting use to. I use to do it all every day. Wash, blow dry flat iron or curling iron. Amazingly enough my hair is much healthier now than ever before. I do dye it once every 3 months(grays)(Loreal dye and hightlighting kit)Try deep conditioning it with a hair mud mask from Yves Rocher(less expensive) or Biolage. They both work just as well. Good luck!
