i want my hair as bright as it can get... i dont care about the damage.

i just need to know if anything other than the product at the hair store will do just as good.

No. You can try bleach you use on clothes.. but I do not think you will the light color you want. If your dark brown it will turn bright red.. or orange. Peroxide they sell in drug stores is the milder form of what is used in hair products.

Not that I can think of. Lemon juice lightens hair, but definitely not that much.
