Question about hair straightening and straighteners/flat irons?

I have really long hair, about medium thickness. It's naturally very wavy and very frizzy. A few years ago I started ironing my hair with an actual clothes iron (no, my hair isn't falling out). Sometimes I use a straightener, but my hair is so thick that it takes forever and doesn't come out that great. I also blow dry my hair as straight as I can get it before straightening.

I take good care of my hair, get regular trims, use salon products. It's actually pretty healthy looking depsite all of the abuse from styling it. Anyway, I live in Florida, i'm kinda used to the humidity, but I may be moving to Miami next year, which is a lot more humid than where I live. I'm not going to have anyone to iron my hair for me, so I'm going to have to get a straightener.

I'm not sure which one I should get. I've used to Chi before and wasn't really impressed. I've looked into the Sedu, but that might make my hair a little too flat (I still want it to have some fullness to it).

Question about hair straightening and straighteners/flat irons?

I use a flat iron everyday and live in Ontario - Humid in summer, damp in winter - Hair Nightmare! Make sure the flat iron you use has adjustable temperatures and ceramic surfaces. Use a frizz serum with it - not only will it help your frizzes it protects against the heat of the iron.

A bit more work, but I would use the flat iron on the top layers and use hot rollers on the underlayers for volume.

Va-Va-Voom!

Try using a ceramic flat iron and use a little olive oil in you hair after washing it it keeps the hair shiny and healthy. Also it's much lighter on the hair and keep it healthy.Believe me it works.. Report It

Question about hair straightening and straighteners/flat irons?

i have wavy hair too, its thick, just maybe not as out of control as yours. i split my hair into 3 layers. so i put 2/3 of my hair up and out of the way and straighten the bottom, then i put another chunk down and straighten that and so on. then you have smaller chunks to deal with at a time. i use the white revlon straightener.

Question about hair straightening and straighteners/flat irons?

umm my hair is similar to yours in the friziness factor and i live in the caribbean which is even more humidity than miami, but i'm not very sure brandwise but make sure you get a ceramic plated flat ironer it is truly the best kind and gets your hair as straight as possible. also get a think flat iron it should help speed up the process for you

Question about hair straightening and straighteners/flat irons?

first try straightening in really small layers. thats what i have to do. i have a ceramictools straightener and it works really well. it gives me straight hair but w/ some body.

Question about hair straightening and straighteners/flat irons?

My sister has the exact same kind of problem. She uses the Remington wet2straight iron with Thermasilk straightening cream and it works very well for her.

Her biggest advice for straightening is to divide your hair into four quarters and clip them to the top of your head. Drop one quarter, apply the cream, and flatten it in sections. Work from the bottom to the top.

To add fullness, after straightening, blow dry upside down.

Hope this helps.

Question about hair straightening and straighteners/flat irons?

Try Solano its a flat iron it works perfect also but some non frize shampoo and conditioner it will keep it from frizzing also try when you get out of the shower add about a quarter size of conditioner to wet hair and leave do not rinse out and style and iron as usual it will keep it straight shinny and no frizz

Question about hair straightening and straighteners/flat irons?

My best friend has super thick, wavy hair and she uses the white Revlon straightener also. After blow-drying, clip the top part up while you straighten the bottom layer. Let a little down at a time until it's all straightened. Personally, I like to use John Freida's Dream Creme after straightening... but a little bit goes a long way!

Question about hair straightening and straighteners/flat irons?

Damn who cares?

No guy will ever care about your hair as much you do right now.

Why dont you put down the products and reach for a book?

Question about hair straightening and straighteners/flat irons?

I can't live with out my Frizz-ease! I use their Down Play Volume reducer right after my shower, Style Straight ( spray it on your hair while it's wet, then blow dry straight with the dryer), then flat iron the hair, and Secret Weapon finishing creme for flyaways or leftover frizzies. Very sleek and shiny hair that lays right!

Question about hair straightening and straighteners/flat irons?

Whether you choose a straightener/iron/dryer from Chi, Conair, Revlon, or any of the other brands--the level of straight that you want your hair to be not only depends on the product but how you use it. If you don't want it too straight or flat, then place it on a lower temp. and use less pressure.

Question about hair straightening and straighteners/flat irons?

You need to use a serum with your iron. The best one is Citre Shine, which always gets high reviews. It makes hair silky and keeps out the humidity and moisture.
